George M. Grunert, MD
Dr. Grunert has over 30 years of experience in treating patients with infertility. He is the founder and program director of the longest ongoing IVF program in the Southwest.
Raised in San Antonio, he came to Houston to attend Rice University. After graduating from Rice at the age of 19, he stayed in Houston to attend medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. After receiving his M.D. degree, he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Oakland and Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of California San Francisco.
Returning to Houston to begin private practice, he established the IVF program at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas and Houston Fertility Specialists. He has a specific interest in fertility preservation and reproductive genetics.
He remained in the U.S. Navy Reserve and was recalled to active duty for Operation Desert Storm. He retired as a Captain, Medical Corps, USNR.
Dr. Grunert is proud and honored to have helped many patients from around the world realize there dream of having a family. He believes in a personal individualized practice approach to the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of infertility. When asked his practice philosophy, Dr. Grunert says “I want to give each patient hope and honest accurate information about their path to parenthood. I believe in building families one baby step at a time.”
